Are you a former U.S. attorney fired by Donald Trump? Don’t go looking for sympathy from Georgians.

…At least not our former congressmen. On Sunday, Former Reps. John Linder and Jack Kingston had some harsh words for ousted U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, who rode a wave of media publicity after his career as an Obama-appointee came to an end.

“‘Fired’ US Attorneys will have many job offers from prestigious law firms w/ salary 2X, 3X what Obama paid them,” Kingston tweeted.

Linder replied that Bharara will soon “be paid a million a year to defend ‘white collar’ criminals.”

In agreement, Rep. Kingston doubled down. “So much for public service,” he tweeted.

Bharara was among 46 U.S. Attorneys who received a resignation request from President Trump on Saturday.

“I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired,” Bharara tweeted on Saturday afternoon. “Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.”
