Like many siblings, Sally Yates and her sister Terre Quillan- an Atlanta native- fall on opposite sides of the political spectrum. But as a conservative talk host and Trump supporter, Quillan’s response to her sister’s firing by President Donald Trump has her walking a tightrope.

In an interview with Birmingham Fox affiliate WBRC, Quillan said that her sister is “one of the most well respected prosecutors in the United States and has been for decades.” She added that, while she generally agrees with the President, she called his order “poorly written.”

“I can understand why [Yates] took the stance that she did. Mine would have been different,” she said.

“I was really disappointed in President Trump, who I supported for president and that I still do support, but I was very disappointed in his response to Sally’s actions because to say that she disgraced the Justice Department. That’s absurd,” she added.

Yates, who was fired by President Trump after publicly dissenting over his executive order on immigration, is now being called on by some Georgia Democrats to run for governor.
